My Skin Care Regimen
( that i have to follow for life!)
By the age of 18, everyone should be doing the basic skin care regimen in order to prevent the signs of aging. I started to put basic creams at the age of 13 because of my mom. It was just at the age of 21, that i started to become more conscious, thus completed my regimen. These are some of the products that Ive already tested and will continue to test other products in the future. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are not enough. There are more steps you need to know...
I have dry-normal skin so I use
Revaleskin Cleanser to wash my face in the morning. It has a creamy texture that hydrates my skin while delivering potent antioxidant known as
coffeeberry to help prevent aging skin. It doesn't irritate my skin at all!
I remove my makeup at night with either
Physiogel cleanser or Clinique Comforting Cleanser. Sometimes these cleansers are not enough to take my makeup out so i use astringent after.
This
Kera Forte Astringent was formulated at the clinic. It contains
keratolytic acid that cleanses, softens and sheds off dead skin cells. I would notice that my cotton ball would still have some dirt and residue after swiping it all over my face. Great for acne as well!
FLAVO C- is a vitamin c serum that
contains 8% ascorbic acid and ginkgo biloba. I place this every morning before my sunblock or day cream.
Ascorbic acid is another powerful antioxidant that is supposed to increase collagen formation and reduce fine wrinkles. Some of our patients use this for crow's feet or eye wrinkles.
Ive been using this for 7 months now. So far, so good. I cant really tell cause ive been combining a lot of different products. But Ive noticed that the vit c made my skin glow more. This is the only vit c. serum ive used, and there are a lot to still try. Like
Obagi's Vit C serum and Skin Ceutical's Phloretin CF serum. Heard that they are pricey but are very good!
Now ive shifted to the
Vit C Moisturizing Anti-aging cream. I like it so much better than the serum cause its not sticky. It leaves your skin moisturized and radiant because of the vit c. I wear it at night or sometimes in the morning before my makeup to give me that
dewy look.I recommend this product. Its around Php 2500 for 30 ml.
After my vit c serum/cream, I place my
Revaleskin DayCream with SPF 15.
Like what i said in my other blog enrty, this day cream has so much benefits. It is An antioxidant, moisturizer and suncreen in one. I only wear this if i don't expose myself to the sun too much. Like leaving the house, getting in the car and going to the clinic . This product may be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. (Php 4200) I like the feeling of applying something that rejuvenates and protects my skin at the same time. It doesnt make my skin oily at all.
My aunt told me that it helped vanish her eyebags and wrinkles in 4 months.
For greater exposures, like going to the beach or driving your own car...i suggest
spf 45-60 with anti UVA/UVB. Cetaphil sunblock is such a good product especially for sensitive skin. (Php 960 for 50 ml) Not oily at all for the skin.
Night:
Tretinoin Cream is still the best cream and number one treatment for anti aging and pimples. It is a strong exfoliant that peels off your dead skin cells and ligthens your skin texture (sun damaged skin) and at the same time fades fine wrinkles. It is also used for acne because it helps decrease sebum formation and unplugs acne follicles.
Dont be scared to peel. Some of our patients don't like peeling so they discontinue this cream. But they dont understand that they have to peel off their old skin at the top layer and reveal new skin. (Just like snakes) Some side effects of this cream are redness, dryness and increased sensitivity to the sun.
M2 HP Skin Finish contains both
Mandelic and Malic Acid. Definitely one of my favorite night products! I love how it leaves my skin soft and hydrated as I wake up in the morning. Its an all in one night treatment serum.
Benefits:
- corrects and tightens the pores
- decreases breakouts
- fades acne scarrings and blemishes
- smoothens and hydrates the skin
- diminishes fine wrinkles
- lightens pigmentation/sun spots
- adds luster and glow to the skin
I apply it alternately with my tretinoin cream to avoid irritation. It gives a tingling sensation which is normal only. Its serum based so its a bit sticky and the smell is not so good. Its important to apply moisturizer after 5 mins for better results.
I use either the
Flavo C anti-aging moisturizing cream or the
DCL Oil Free Ulta Light Hydrator The DCL is perfect for people with oily skin. It gives the right amount of moisture.
A
mini peel treatment or 20% gycolic peel treatment is also necessary once or twice a week. Since my skin dries up easily, I use this treatment once a month only, but for people who
have oily skin and are pimple prone should use it at least twice a week.
This is a mini peel treatment that is used to even out skin texture, heal blackheads and acne and diminish fine wrinkles. It gives a stingy sensation for a while but it is tolerable.
This kind of peeling is very mild and no flaking will occur. You can avail this at our clinic as well. Its Php 4000 for 50 pads. Its actually cheaper cause it would turn out that each pad would cost 80 pesos only. So how much is a glycolic treatment in a facial center or derma? Around 1000-3000 per session. Crazy! Just do it yourself at home.
I would swipe my face with one pad and leave it on for 10 mins. After 10 mins, wash it off with cold water.
I spend for hair as well since i have very stubborn hair. =(
I just want to share my closet with you
as well . Im just proud that its very organized now. But during the weekends?? Oh dear...
This walk in closet connects my room and my sister's room together. I like it better this way cause its fun to dress up together. We get to comment on each other's outfits and help do makeup. We usually share everything =)
All products are available at the Arambulo's Skin Clinic or any dermatologists only!
